Crofton Youth Program’s Open Gym and Summer Day Program are underway. The day program is from 10:30am to noon every Tuesday and Thursday and Open Gym is from 4:30 to 6:30 every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Both events are held at the Crofton City Auditorium. Call 402-388-4766 for questions.

Nebraska’s Lewis & Clark State Recreation Area has some fun activities this week. Today, July 18th, take part in Introduction to Archery for ages 5 and above. Meet at the field across from the swim beach. Cost is $1 for 6 arrows. On Friday, July 20th, learn how to identify animal tracks and look at real animal furs from noon to 1:30. There will even be a special appearance from the park pet, Benny. Meet at the park office. This is free. On Saturday, July 20th, join the National Park Service for a fun morning of kayaking from 9am to noon. Meet at the Burbach Getty. This is free.

Totus Tuus will be held at St. Rose of Lima Parish in Crofton July 22-27th. The program for grades 1 to 6 will run Monday, July 23rd to Friday, July 27th from 9am to 2:30pm, and the Junior High and High School Program will run Sunday, July 22nd – Thursday, July 26th from 7pm to 9pm. Registration forms are available in the entry of St. Rose church.

Crofton’s Dam Race is a new race in Northeast Nebraska along the picturesque Lewis & Clark Lake. Competitors 14 years of age and older will kayak 1 mile on the lake, run a 5K through the Weigand campground and bike 12 miles into downtown Crofton for a Bar-B-Q and celebration. Teams or individual participants are welcome. You’ll want to come back year after year to the beautiful Nebraska State Park near Crofton. Visit AllSportsCentral.com for details and to register. This event is being hosted by the City of Crofton in conjunction with the Weigand Marina and Nebraska Game & Parks.

Come join Crofton for an evening at the pool and a glimpse of the plans for the future dream pool. Lots of family fun including swimming, games, music, food, adult silent auction, and kid’s Chinese auction. This is a Crofton Pool Fundraiser for all ages. Bring your own beverages and plan to settle in for an evening of fun at the Crofton Pool and North Park area, August 4th from 6 to 9pm.

Main Street Treasures is a non-profit thrift store operated by volunteers. The store sells clothing, housewares, small furniture, small appliances, lawn & garden items, toys, baby stuff, hunting accessories, and other items. Proceeds benefit the Crofton area. Main Street Treasures is open Wednesdays 10am to 8pm, Thursdays and Fridays, 10am to 6pm, Saturdays 10am to 2pm, and the first Sunday of the month 10am to 1pm.
